This past September, as a part of my 8 week trip circumnavigating the globe, my colleague Stephen and I attended the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) Council of Member annual meeting in Hyderabad, India. There we were interviewed by their Procurement and Standard List Manager, Phil Hoare to highlight the work we do and the uniqueness of the USee. https://youtu.be/ReL8BF6lZpo

Following this conference I was invited to meet with the Chief Executive Officer of IAPB, Peter Holland, in London while I was in the UK for a military/humanitarian operations conference. We chatted about the need for global partnerships to end the epidemic of poor vision and how GV2020 becoming a member of IAPB could help to build support for effective self-refractive technologies as part of the overall solution to the 2.5 billion people without access to vision care.

This membership, and the partnerships and collaborative nature of the IAPB offers us a great opportunity to grow our base of supporters, and continue broadening the awareness of the issue and solutions to combat it. As 2018 is coming to a close, we are excited about the future and believe 2019 will be a banner year!
